The following is an explanation of the terminology used to complete the Disposition section of the UOPDCrime Log:
Open
The case is currently being investigated by UOPD.
Arrest
The subject has been arrested by UOPD.
CLC
The subject has been issued a municipal citation in lieu of custody.
Citation
The subject has been issued a violation citation.
Unfounded
The case is determined to be false or baseless. No offense occurred nor was attempted.
Closed. Suspended
A report has been taken and there is no viable suspect information.
Referred to Outside Agency
Report has been referred to another agency for investigation, follow-up and/or review for prosecution.
Received from Outside Agency
Incident occurred at a Clery-reportable property within an outside agency’s jurisdiction which services OU properties. Outside agency, in accordance with the Clery Act, submits their data upon request annually.
Referred to Title IX
This report was referred to the Title IX Coordinator for follow up.
Received from Title IX
Information provided to the Clery Coordinator by the Title IX Coordinator.
Dean of Students Referral
The case has been referred to the Office of the Dean of Students for possible disciplinary action. If the case number is with this disposition is “N/A” this entry is a judicial referral (the majority of these come from housing).
Closed. Reclassified
The original incident report classification has been changed to accurately reflect the appropriate classification, based on the results of the investigation.
Closed. Cleared Exceptional
An investigation has definitively established the identity and location of the offender however no arrest was made or formal charges pursued for reasons outside law enforcement control.
Closed. No Further Action
No further investigative action is required.
Incidents with a case number of "N/A” or a six digit number may involve information received from university administrators who are defined as "campus security authorities.1"
In these incidents, the victim did not file an official police report and therefore it is not always possible to provide information regarding the five areas typically covered in the crime log (Nature/Classification, Case #, Date Reported, Date/Time Occurred, General Location, Disposition).
